:Out of Town:

       Iv had such a busy week. Towards the end of the week, I had to even go out of town (just for a night) for a teaching conference. I really enjoyed it (some teacher friends came too, so I wasnt alone) it almost seemed like a mini-vacation. Didn't have to teach that day & was able to listen to some great speakers, took home alot of useful information & even won one of the scholastic bag door prizes! I will say I REALLY missed Kylee and my husband. Its little things like spending just one night away that makes you realize how blessed you are and how comfortable you feel in your OWN home, in your OWN bed, under your OWN blankets!! It was a super nice hotel and the friend I shared a room with was great, but I think you all know what I mean. Also, we went to the Jason Aldean concert since he was nearby. AMAZING time! We also this week took Kylee to see YO GABBA GABBA LIVE :) she loved it~ Well she did until about 30 min left of it, and she was DONE~ Im sure you all can picture it, tired cranky hungry 1 year old, but we survived!!! Monday she had a doctors appointment and everything looked good except for her still having problems with textured food. She gets choked/gags very easily so they want to send her to a specialist and just make sure everything is ok. PRAYERS PLEASE! Well we are having a very low-key weekend since our week was super busy. Let me add I am soooo excited today is the first day of Oct. I LOVE this month!! Remember guys, Christmas is only 2 months away (ahh, love it)                                             HAPPY WEEKEND- XOXO

Weekend!

      What a FAB weekend we had! Spent it all with great family & friends. Some of us teachers got together and went to a wonderful Winery up on the mountain (yes teachers can have fun too!!!!!!!!!!!) It was an amazing girls night. A 'new' girl came & was too funny. She is our new special ed. teacher and she is from VA but towards the city and we are 100% country (in a good way here hehe) she didnt know what flat-footing was or has never pee'd in the woods. Ok i know not everyone has, but for this country girl I thought it was pretty cute/funny~ Saturday was my College that I attendeds HOMECOMING game, so we did some tailgating and even left for a bit to go to a family reunion (of course everyone wanted to see Kylee) and then came back to the game. We had some friends in from college that we dont get to see very often and it was so much fun spending time with them. Then Sunday Kylee and I got up and went to church. We have started a new church recently and im so blessed to have found a church like this one. I may post more on this matter later, but for now GOD IS GOOD (always!)
                 Now to get back into the groove of work SHEW!

:Time to GET REAL:

        Ok everyone. My goal was to do :more: on my blog! Did it work this week? NO! So I have decided Im going to get a little personal in hopes that more will respond (maybe?!) but at least it'll be more of a journal for me. I want to share my thoughts about whats going on in this crazy life of mine. I think this will help with sharing blessings, fun times, how good GOD has been & even vent too :-) Maybe some blogging therapy>Yeah I like that! So I hope you guys are ready because I live a fun, crazy, stressful, wife, mommy, teacher kind of life!!! I know all of us have a story...so lets get a little personal!!!!!

                                             :Husband Drama:

                    Did I get your attention yet? Last week was not the best week. PERIOD. The hubby and I had an argument and yes it was over Kylee. I know this sounds awful, but sometimes being a parent can be very stressful. I LOVE it dont get me wrong, but im being honest as can be here & arent you just tired sometimes? too tired to fix dinner? too tired to change a diaper? too tired to do anything? shew Sooo when i look back I think we both just had one of those TIRED days and its never good when they fall on the :same: day. It was something simple! Who knows what it was about, but one thing led to another & we were very annoyed, yet angry at each other. It was one of those arguments that left us barely speaking for a few days (sounds familar?) I hope im not alone here, but sometimes a couple just needs their space! Not a separation type space! no no no but a lets put on our ignoring faces for a a day or two and CALM down before we hash it out kind of space! Wellll on Friday, he sends me flowers to school that says : Thanks for ALL you do, I love you: (sweet right?) BUT then it said P.S. Im going fishing tonight!!! hahahaaaa only my husband! Honestly, its what I needed though, I didnt care that he would be out til 4am, but I needed to hear :I appreciate YOU: It made me feel so special. I hate when things become a competition,  sometimes that happens & we dont mean for it too! Example: I let the dog in last, its your turn? When we should just say, hey can you let the dog in? *sighs* oh if it were that simple :wink wink: Anyway, it helped us so much & no not just because I got flowers (which were beautiful btw) but because he thought enough to say Thank You!

I promise I'll do better!

Sooooo here I am again, saying sorry its been so long...blah blah! I am determined to make more time for my blog. I LOVE blogging, but sometimes I feel so busy that sometimes some days or maybe even a week (yikes!) goes by. Kylee has been sick & is still on the mend today, so Iv been by her side this whole weekend. Her cough is horrible! I hope it passes quickly, I feel so sorry for her. It's time for some football in this household. The hubby is finishing up mowing & we are having a few friends over for some yummy food & fun times! Hope you guys have an aaaaamazing WEEK.

Time for ME!

       Im still alive! NO FEAR!! I titled this time for ME because I feel like Im at a point in my life where Im trying to figure out whats next. Iv finished college, got my dream job (teaching 4th grade) married my high school sweetheart (we are 25 and have been together 8 years already, married 3 wow!) Had our 1st little angel March 2010 & I am so beyond blessed & happy. I do sit back at times & just count my blessings because God has been so good to us. Now dont get me wrong, we have had our trials like every couple...family sitations, newborn, silly fights that are def. blown way out of proportion  etc. BUT here lately Iv been trying to figure out whats next. Im not one to brag, but I feel like I do good at living my life! (does that make sense?) I strive to be the best wife I can be to my husband, with even things like keeping the house in order (i like a clean house too!) laundry, cooking, and just cuddling him & letting him know how much I love him! I try to be an awesome mom, i love every second i spend with Kylee & just watching her play and spending time with her is such a blessing in itself. As a teacher, I try to set a good example...I have learned quickly that kids do not need friends in a teacher, they need a ROLE MODEL in a teacher. It does drive me crazy when i see teachers trying to be "cool" or trying to be their "friend" when they have plenty of those...they need again, a role model & someone to TEACH them (subject material and manners!!) Im not one to brag, but today a kid told me "Ya know when I told you at the beginning of the year that I did not like social studies? Well you are changing that!" (sighs) That my friends, is WHY I TEACH! That little boy will never know how much I needed to hear that, and appreciate him actually telling me that. He didnt have to! Anway, back to the moral of my post. I am thrilled to hopefully soon sell our starter home, and get a home we have always wanted-one for a bigger family (in the future that is!!) I think that is what we need next, but do you ever wonder what "track" you are on with God? I really want a more personal relationshop with my Savior, I know I have a good relationship, but I hate to admit I sometimes feel as if Im "toooo busy" for God! That kills me to admit that, but I guess admitting is one step closer to getting better huh? I want to learn more about him, about which pathways in life he wants ME to take, about EVERYTHING!!! I really think the power of prayer is amazing & I ask you all to pray for me and my journey in life..as I will too pray for YOU! I do feel im on the right path at the moment, if not I think like I would be getting some sort of "slap in the face" or something to get my attention, right? I was giving Kylee a bath tonight & this is where this post came from, I was watching her play & talk her own language (remember shes 1) and I realized that LIFE IS SO SHORT I know cliche' right? If you really think about it though, what were you doing just a year ago? what were you doing 5 years ago? Think about it! Seems like yesterday all the time. I cannot believe Kylee is almost 18 months, I can remember bringing her home swaddled up and thinking "please stay this way forever!" & now i have a wild toddler, who has started her terrible twos early might I add. She has discovered her nose has 2 holes & loves to growl at people..it makes for some interesting grocery store trips let me tell you =) I know that she will start Pre-K before I know it, college & walk down the Isle by the time I ask her to "never grow up" (taylor swift: all you moms out there google that song if you have never heard it & get the tissues ready!!!!)

Saturday FUN!

    I cannot express how EXCITED I am to have a FULL weekend with my husband and little girl. Its the little things ya know? The hubby has a new job now & he has weekends off!! He hasnt had the whole weekend off since, um actually never! Since he was 18 he has worked every Saturday and for years rotated sundays. When kylee was born up until about a year he was working full weekends with Thursday and Fridays off, which of course those days I was working. So we never had any full days together. Anyway/thrilled doesnt even come close. I L<3VE them to pieces & this is the start to some happy memories. God is so GOOD! He is off in the evenings by 5:00, was working til' 7:00 getting home usually around 8:00, he was driving 45 minutes ONE way, and now he has a company vehichle, did i mention he will be on salary so making MORE! Ahhh we are so blessed, it was def. worth the wait because now we will be able to sell our starter home (hopefully soon) and move on to something better for our family. Who knows maybe make some more babies w/n the next year =)

Deep in thought!

This is actually how I feel lately. Deep in thought. Life serves crazy outcomes at times, but you roll with it right? This week has been tough, with one of our elementary schools burning down & we started the "Babysitters" my mom isnt keeping Kylee anymore (more on that in a minute) and we are just on the 3rd day of school!! YIKES! I have to count my blessings though. I have a job that I love, a daughter that means the world to me & our county is really coming together to help this school in need! It's amazing how everything DOES happen for a reason, even though we dont know why at times, I have FAITH that it does..it just does!! I have been so exhausted trying to get back into the groove of lesson plans, grading papers, TEACHING in general (another new subject this year) and trying to be the best Wife, Mommy, friend & the list goes on! Trust me im not complaining, I love the life I live but sometimes dont you just think to yourself "Am i really this tired?" "Do I have to get up and do it all again tomorrow?" Shew just one of those weeks!  

OH & on the babysitter note, my family has always kept Kylee for me (an amazing blessing!) My mom & mema both take turns. Basically, my husband and I have decided Kylee is at the age where it would really be beneficial if she was around kids on a daily basis. The hardest thing Iv had to do is drop her off at the babysitters (2 days ago to be exact) I cried the whole way to work. Bawled actually! I love the babysitter, dont get me wrong. She is 5 mintues from our house-great price-used to be a teacher-friendly-other kids are there! It just worked out, BUT the thought of leaving her, just leaving her there with a new person & new house etc. just broke my heart. My co-workers were amazing. They really helped me through the day. We had a prayer circle before school (because of the fire at the other elem. school) so everyone of course saw my blubbery face & prayed for me (oooh the power of prayer) God is GOOD! I felt so much better, called at lunch time & she was doing great. When i picked her up, she was outside so I at least got a "Ma Ma" and a wave :) and thats all I needed.
Im ready for the weekend and its not even Wednesday (haha) I just needed some "de-stress" time, thanks for listening ;) much love!! XOXO

Back to School We GO!

       WOW! I cannot believe summer is over for us. The kids 1st day of School for us here in VA was Thursday, the 11th!! I have to admit Im super excited to get back into the swing of things and this year I will be teaching L.A. and S.S. Im thrilled with these subjects. I have taught science/s.s. for 3 years, so something new is always fun! My motto (at times) is Change is good =)

    Now on a more depressing note. One of our Elementary Schools over the weekend burned to the ground =( We are such a small town, tight-knit community and I know we will come together with this tragedy. I am so thankful that it was a Friday night so NO KIDS OR ADULTS were in the building, GOD IS GOOD!

     Needless to say a few busy weeks its been, I will get back into the swing of things shortly!!

IM BACK!!

        Ohhh how I have missed the blogging world! We were at the beach for a week & when we returned home our internet was out for about 5 days =( Needless to say I got ALOT accomplished around the house hehe! On top of all of that, we started back to work (teacher workdays) yesterday (YIKES!!) Summer is officially over I guess, I cant believe how fast this one went. I have enjoyed every minute, especially with little miss priss!
  
    I had alot of meetings yesterday and today actually experienced a nerve-wracking event. Some co-workers and myself were at Virginia Tech at a conference & the campus went on lockdown. I will say when it first happened, there was that gut-wrenching pit in my stomach that thought WOW is this happening? Basically, some younger students who were attending camp thought they saw a man with a gun near the vollyball courts & reported it. They put the whole campus on lockdown & we still continued with our conference (talk about a distraction!) Overall, we were fine & they never found anyone with that description or gun. They lifted the lockdown at about 4pm & we were finished at 4:30. Needless to say, im so happy to be SAFE at HOME! We don't realize in situations like that, how scary & unsettling it can be! God is good! I hope to post lots of pictures soon, I am beyond tired ;)

Temp is rising!!

Whew! Its been a few hot days in VA, no complaining though. We have had so much fun at my parents pool & at the lake! Kylee did so good too! She wasnt a big fan of the sand at first, but grew to love it! We got out the sidewalk chalk at nana's and papa's, after a couple of 'bites' :) she then realized what she was supposed to do with it! I am starting to realize summer break is almost over, bummer! The teachers in my county go back August 3rd-which is right around the corner....im going to soak up every second with Kylee before I have to return to being a 'role model' haha love my job (no really i do!!) hope yall are having a FAB summer XOXO

COOKIES & A MESS

We had a great Tuesday evening. My friend Amy had Kylee and myself over for a fun playdate, a yummy dinner & some hairbow making!! We had a blast. Her little girl just turned 4 months and it amazes me to think Kylee was that age just LAST july...wow!!! Needless to say, Kylee got into the dessert & was loving every little lick!!

Homemade Legwarmers!

    We were supposed to go to the lake today, but the Sun just wasnt on our side. We did so many things instead, including making leg warmers! I was browsing some "How To" sites & I didn't realize how easy they were. I have some more ideas up my sleeve, but the ones I made today I didn't even have to sew (jackpot!) I took a pair of my tube socks & simply cut the bottom off. For some reason, the bottoms rolled up perfectly & looked like they were made that way. Another pair could possibly need sewing, so just base it on how you think it looks! I have a few pictures of them on my little girl. Kylee was all over the place today, so I only got a few good pictures, good luck catching a 1 yr old!

We are looking into ideas to turn Kylee's 'nursery' into more of a toddler 'playroom'. She is 16 months going on 18 ;) I'm simply amazed at how she's developing & how observant she is.  Playing with her is the highlight of my day. The way she hands me things and giggles just melts my heart!! To all the mommies out there enjoy those little moments, I can already tell they grow up too fast xxoo

A Day on the LaKe!

There's nothing like a day on the lake in VA! I love summertime, love love love it! The sun was shining bright, the water was the perfect temp (like bathwater) great friends & a nice cold one!!! We had so much fun in the water, tubing & had a fun picnic mid-day! We then went into some coves to check out some waterfalls.This was the only one I would climb up because of my fear of what I call "S's" I think you guys can figure that one out. I will not say nor type the word of that animal, ew! We came home and had burgers on the grill, perfect end to a perfect day. XOXO

Heading to FIREWORKS tonight. Cant wait to listen to good music, eat til' I wanna pop & spend it all with the ones I love. There's something about the 4th of July that just makes you smile. Seeing everyone coming together & being PROUD Americans gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside, I love it!!! Vacation: PA!

PA was filled with lots of family time! My husbands family lives there & we try to visit at least twice a year. He was born in NY and moved to New Castle, PA when he was 5. Then he made his way down to VA (to find me I still think!!!) at the age of 11! We attended the same elementary and high school and God has richly blessed us in our lives together. It's crazy to think about him being so far away in different states for so long and then finding possibly the smallest county in VA! GOD IS GOOD! He would drive me crazy on the school bus, but now I see he was being all boy and wanting my digits haha We started dating when we were 15 (WOW!) we were young'ins!! I love him to pieces and wouldnt have it any other way. He is everything I want in a husband, and is an amazing father to our little girl. I am thrilled to spend the rest of my life with him, and make so many more memories!! Sorry I went a completely different direction with this post, but here are a few pictures of our PA adventures!!!! Enjoy!

      So I have alot on my mind and want to share so much with you all. Iv been thinking I need to spice up my blog a bit after looking around, HELLO you gals are AMAZING & have some fluffy blogs. Yes I just said fluffy and im leaving it haha: I had a playdate today with a dear friend and she and I have been talking about crafting lately. She showed me some adorable hairbows she has made and so Iv been searching for cute crafts for Kylee's room. Iv also been searching for crafts Kylee and I can do together. Any ideas, SHARE SHARE SHARE! She is 15 months & a wild child at that =)

HELP: Organization!!

To all the Mommies out there, one word Organization. How do you do it? My husband and I do still live in our smaller starter home. We are hoping to move by the end of the summer, so I will not be doing any major decorative changes anytime soon, but any TIPS you may have please share! Kylee's clothes especially are difficult, I feel like its a never ending packing away of the "outgrown" clothes! This picture is adorable and something I could see possibly in one part of the basement of our new home, love it!
